What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis (or trance) is a heightened state of focus. It is usually experienced as a pleasant, deep sense of relaxation. In certain cases, it can lead to temporary amnesia.

Think about the times when you were so engrossed in driving that you couldn’t remember how you got to a destination. This is an example of highway hypnosis, a form of hypnosis.

Most of us have experienced hypnosis without being aware of it.

Common myths about hypnosis

You have no controlA hypnotherapist cannot control what you say and how you act. Rest assured, you have total control of yourself and your actions throughout the whole session

Interesting Statistics on Hypnotherapy

Smoking Cessation: A three-session clinical hypnosis intervention found that 81% of participants had stop smoking by the end of the treatment (Elkins & Rajab, 2004).
Anxiety Management: Meta-analysis found that hypnosis was effective in reducing anxiety by up to 79% on average (valentine et al., 2019).
Weight Management: Hypnosis helped participants to lose on average 17 lbs as compared to 0.5lbs lost by those who did not receive hypnosis as treatment (Cochrane et al., 1986).
